Katie Enzenberger proves there is nothing better to sip on this summer than a cooling, berry, bourbon cocktail.
This recipe makes 1 cocktail:
- 10 whole fresh blueberries
- 1 lime cut into wedges
- 5 fresh mint leaves
- 1/2 ounces simple syrup (1 cup granulated sugar and 1 cup water)
- 2 ounces bourbon
- sparkling wine
- crushed ice
Start by making the simple syrup. In a medium saucepan combine 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water. Bring to a boil, stirring, until sugar has dissolved. Allow to cool.
In a cocktail shaker muddle blueberries, mint leaves, simple syrup and lime wedges together. Pour in the bourbon and shake.
Fill cocktail glass to the top with crushed ice and pour the blueberry bourbon smash while straining. Top with sparkling wine. Garnish with a whole mint leaves and blueberries.
